Size:

If you use similar yarn and crochet hook as me your teddybear will be about:

Height: 24 cm/ 9.4 inches
Width: 20 cm/ 7.8 inches
Depth: 15 cm/ 5.9 inches

What you need:

  • Crochet hook size 4 mm (8, F)
  • Cotton yarn suitable for hook size bigger than 4 mm (or which one you use).
  • I use heavy cotton yarn, aran medium yarn, ”Yarn and color – EPIC”.
  • You will need: Brown yarn 115 gram/4 oz, Turquoise yarn 20 gram/0.7 oz, Beige yarn 15 gram/0.5 oz, White yarn 50 gram/1.7 oz, Red yarn 5 gram/0.17 oz and Black yarn 5 gram/17 oz. One safety eye in size 20 mm/ 0.78 inch.
  • One wooden button 25 mm/1 inch Brown thinner yarn for sewing on the button to the teddybear.
  • Red paint (textile paint) and a paintbrush.
  • Scissor
  • Needle
  • Stuffing about 110 gram/3.88 oz

Sew the head and the body together. When you are sewing use some extra stuffing in the gap between the head and the body for more stability.

Sew a cross as the second eye with black yarn. Sew the eye over 9 stitches, count 6 stitches from the other eye. Stuff, pin and sew on the nose to the bear. Place the nose one stitch under the eyes.

Pin and sew on the legs to the teddybear. Place the legs between row 6 and 13 on the body. I sew on the legs with stitches behind, under, over and on the inside of the legs.

Tail:

Apron:

Continue to crochet on the apron. Start in any stitch on the first row on the apron:

    2 – 6. 8 x SC, chain 1, turn Cut the yarn, save a piece of yarn for assembly.

Ribbon to the apron:
Chain 41, start in the second chain from the hook:

  1. Crochet 40 x SC, chain 1, turn
  2. Crochet 5 x DC in the same stitch, SK, SS, SK **Repeat the row. Cut the yarn, save a piece of yarn for assembly.

Hat:
White yarn

Cross (make 4):
Red yarn

  1. Chain 6 – Start in the second chain from the hook:

Put the hat, apron and the ribbon in a cardboard box. Use any color. I used red textile paint and mixed it with some water to get it more watery. Then i splashed the color with a paintbrush on the pieces, I wait for it to dry, then I splashed paint on the other side. If you want to be able to wash the teddybear follow the instructions on the packaging of the paint.

-Sew on the cross to the apron and the hat (the patch of the hat). I attach them by sewing stitches around the cross pieces, and attach the yarn on the backside of the pieces.

  • Sew on the patch to the hat, sew it on one stitch in from the edge. Stuff the hat with filling and attach the hat on the top of the head. Place the apron on to the bear and sew on the ribbon. Sew one seam on the front to connect the apron with the ribbon. Cross the ribbon on the back and attach/sew the ribbon with a seam on the top edge of the apron.

Ears (make 2):
Brown yarn

Sew a “scar” on the backside of the head with black yarn.
Sew on the ears to the teddybear. Place the ears 2 stitches under the hat.
Sew on a button on the bears nose. I use thinner brown yarn to attach it.
Sew three “scars” on the teddybear with black yarn. Make 2 on the face and one on the arm.
